Melancholy ill suits my cat,
There's other things he is better at,
Eating, sleeping and catching mice,
Other things just as nice.
A talented feline,
Hansome too,
There are many things he is prone to do.
Yet enthusiasm he seems to lack,
As here he sighs on his back,
He should be doing this and that;
Melancholy ill suits my cat.

Great poem Cusp - did you write it yourself? Being a fellow quadruped fan (although I only have one cat unlike your menagerie) I can appreciate a little clever feline poetry. I also appreciate the awesome music scene here in Brisneyland - it's so open and accessible and there's SHEDLOADS of amazing local bands doing all sorts of excellent stuff. Man this town has lots going for it - I've only been here since last May and I'm loving the vibrant arts and music communities up here!!
I can't tell you why the White Stripes sucked so badly at the BDO but they really did - which would have been disappointing if the Stooges hadn't been so great... I like the stuff I hear on the Radio by the White Stripes so *shrug* it's a mystery really - I suppose anyone can have a bad night onstage but I personally wont be paying to see them play again anytime soon, but really it's like when the Ramone's played the BDO years ago - who in their right mind would play straight after?? It doesn't matter who you are you're always going to sound second rate by immediate comparison ya know?? :-)
Speaking of awesome gigs - at the Rev this thursday El Borracho play with the Vegas Kings (and another band the name of which momentarily escapes me) but should be a good time!! Man I love this town - maybe see ya there!
Hey Princess, glad you liked my poem. I managed to avoid pretention on that one by a whisker (pun intended). I was thinking of getting along to the gig on to see the Vegas Kings as I love their sound (I have even chatted to Ben at at Texas Tea gig). However, it is a big week with me out Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thankfully there will always be another gig along in no time. Maybe next time we can catch up. Unfortunately I understand that Gentle Ben & Co are on a bit of a hiatus. But there is a Mexico City gig coming up, I think its the first Sat in March. Will have to check.
Cusp
By the way - the third act at the Rev that night was a one man blues extravaganza by the name of Bob Log - hilarious!!! He wore a jumpsuit and everything!!!
Princess, isn't Bob Log the guy who wears the motorcycle helmet all the time or am I getting him confused with someone else?
